Cultural Support Services by 'Mirragimpah Cultural Consulting' under the 'National Disability Insurance Scheme' (NDIS) framework.
Under the framework of the NDIS the Mirragimpah Cultural Consulting organisation is a registered Service Provider that delivers cultural support and other services to First Nation Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander clients.
We follow First Nation protocols of ‘Men’s Business’ & ‘Women’s Business’ where we provide gender support to our clients.
The range of services include:
* Production of First Nation artefacts (didjeridoos, coolamons, boomerangs, woomeras, boomerangs, clap sticks, emu callers & bull roarers).
Our workshop for artefact production is on a Burpengary acreage property provided to us by the Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia (VVAA).
Male clients are taught how to produce the artefacts by using modern machinery and other products.
[Female clients also have access to the property for artwork and traditional basket weaving;]
* Visits to cultural significant sites and centres in the greater Brisbane regions;
* Recreational support for fishing, crabbing and yabbying to select sites in Brisbane’s northern seaside suburbs;
* Visits to local community centres for involvement with community supported programs such as cooking and gardening;
* In-home supports to cater for house keeping, cooking, shopping and other daily living responsibilities;
* Medical and health referral support
*Client budgeting for social responsibility supports.
